What KC TRN volunteers do
  • Provide 6-10 pro bono sessions (per client) of EMDR treatment to individuals affected by a community disaster.  Sessions occur in the office or virtually. 

  • Utilize  Recent Event Protocol and/or other relevant EMDR therapies.

  • Provide referrals to other appropriate services (if needed) and be prepared to provide treatment within days or up to 3 months after a disaster or community emergency occurs.

  • Maintain necessary EMDRIA HAP and Kansas City Metro TRN documentation.

EMDRIA Requirements for volunteers
  • Maintain a clinical license in the state you will be providing services in--KS and/or MO.

  • Completion of EMDR Therapy Basic Training (including Part 1 and 2, as well as the 10 hours of consultation) by an EMDRIA approved program.   You will need to provide your Certificate of Completion to volunteer.

  • Carry liability and malpractice insurance at the $1 million/$3 million level, to cover your independent practice.

  • Have knowledge of and practice using an EMDR recent event protocol.

  • Register as a volunteer on the EMDRIA HAP website HERE.
